Mobile banking redesign (2019)

This project covers Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, US and Uruguay, aiming to create a new, consistent and cutting-edge global experience.

In close collaboration with multidisciplinary team we built the new experience for mobile banking for Argentina.

My role

As part of Globant's design team, I worked together with my colleagues from BBVA (Argentina and Spain) in the adaptation and creation of flows and features of the bank's app.

  • User history

  • Wireframes creation

  • Testing and user interviews

  • Creation of mockups (low and high quality)

  • Creation of interactive prototypes.

  • Design QA with the development team.

  • Creation and adjustment of design system components

Goals

The client goal was to create a global unified mobile banking experience. Meaning that their clientes around the world would get almost the same experience adapted to the specific idiosyncrasies and need of each country.

Our goal was to adapt that experience to Argentina, providing solutions and proposals to tackle local problems and needs.

Consistency & Reutilization

On 2017 the bank launched a new identity and design language called Coronita which includes a highly developed and sophisticated library created to design all digital products. Being GloMo such a big project it was of the utmost importance to reuse and be consistent in order to create a global experience and also reduce development and design costs.

Process

Global definitions and features were taken and adapted, modified or new features were generated according to the global terms of each country.

Afterwards, the case was presented to the local team for a first approval (Argentina), wireframes/mockups were generated and then presented to the global team (Spain).

Results

  • A more agile, fast and secure mobile app.

  • A rate in the stores of +4

  • 23% increase in app usage compared to the previous version.
